Alabama falls in overtime to Texas A&M

TUSCALOOSA — Josh Carter scored 23 points and Texas A&M defeated Alabama, 86-78, in overtime Saturday night.

In the overtime, the Aggies (7-1) held Alabama (5-3) without a field goal as Demetrius Jemison made three free throws and Alonzo Gee hit two for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama led 70-67 until the Aggies made two 3-pointers in the final 17 seconds to send the game into overtime. Nathan Walkup hit a 3-pointer with 17 seconds left to make the score 72-70, but Mikhail Torrance hit a free throw to push the Alabama lead back to 3.

B.J. Holmes hit a 3-pointer with one second left in regulation, setting up a 13-5 overtime advantage for the Aggies.

Holmes had 16 points for Texas A&M, followed by 15 points and nine rebounds from Bryan Davis.

Gee led Alabama with 19 points and Senario Hillman added 17.
