Tornado sirens quickly prompted a mass evacuation from Plainsman Park on Friday night and the rains and hail that followed caused the game to be suspended.

Auburn and Florida will resume the game today at 1 p.m. Fans are welcome to return and admission is free, but the stadium will be cleared at the conclusion of the game before Auburn’s regularly scheduled game at 3 p.m.

Standard ticket prices will be utilized for the second game.

The resumed game will start in the top of the fifth inning with one out and Florida leading, 4-1.

The Gators tallied three runs off Grant Dayton in the third inning and added a solo home run in the fifth. Daniel Pigott was on first base after a single — Florida’s ninth hit of the game. Avery Barnes was at the plate with a 2-2 count when the first of numerous tornado sirens sounded Friday night.

Joseph Sanders hit a solo home run in the fourth inning — Auburn’s only hit off Jeff Barfield.
