Trent Mummey signed with Baltimore on Friday after being selected in the fourth round earlier this month.
The first Auburn Tiger selected in this year’s Major League Baseball draft is the latest to sign a professional contract.
Auburn outfielder Trent Mummey, who was taken in the fourth round by the Baltimore Orioles, signed with the organization Friday.
According to the Baltimore Sun, Mummey signed for $252,000.
After missing the first 28 games due to injury, Mummey finished his junior season with a .366 batting average, 54 RBI and 17 home runs.
Mummey joins Hunter Morris and Ryan Jenkins as the first three Tigers to sign pro contracts this season after Auburn had a record 11 players drafted earlier this month.
Morris signed with Milwaukee for $218,700 earlier this week.
