The first Auburn Tiger selected in this year’s Major League Baseball draft is the latest to sign a professional contract.

Auburn outfielder Trent Mummey, who was taken in the fourth round by the Baltimore Orioles, signed with the organization Friday.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Mummey signed for $252,000.

After missing the first 28 games due to injury, Mummey finished his junior season with a .366 batting average, 54 RBI and 17 home runs.
Mummey joins Hunter Morris and Ryan Jenkins as the first three Tigers to sign pro contracts this season after Auburn had a record 11 players drafted earlier this month.

Morris signed with Milwaukee for $218,700 earlier this week.
