All-American Kelly Marx claimed the men’s 1-meter title and freshman Anna Aguero was the women’s 3-meter runner-up Thursday at the Auburn Diving Invitational at the James E. Martin Aquatic Center.
Divers from Alabama and LSU are also competing in the three-day event.
Marx, a junior, won the men’s 1-meter title with a score of 342.55.
Fellow junior All-American Daniel Mazzaferro (328.10) and senior Scott Morgan (305.65) were third and fourth, respectively.
Freshman Adam Godzinski just missed making the finals, finishing seventh in preliminary action, scoring a 289.15. Aguero finished as the women’s 3-meter runner-up with a 298.00, after posting a preliminary round score of 268.50.
Diving in her first event as a Tiger, freshman Vanessa Dantin finished sixth (259.60).
Today will be the men’s 3-meter and women’s 1-meter. Both men and women will compete on the platform on Saturday with action beginning at 10 a.m.
Admission is free to all three sessions.
