March is still more than a week away, but the Auburn softball team has been busy piling up victories.

The Tigers, winners of seven in a row, are 11-1 heading into this weekend’s War Eagle Classic. Auburn opens today with back-to-back games against Winthrop and Middle Tennessee, with the first pitch set for 2:30 p.m. at Jane B. Moore Field.

Auburn has surrendered just 11 runs during its winning streak, as freshman Jenee Loree and Anna Thompson have tag-teamed as a dominant duo in the circle.

Loree, who pitched a no-hitter in her Auburn debut, is 5-0 with a 0.85 ERA. The Jupiter, Fla., native is averaging more than one strikeout per innings pitched and has just 15 walks. Thompson, meanwhile, is 6-1 with a 1.50 ERA, and opposing hitters are batting a miniscule .150 against the junior.

Senior Myesha Finney has provided the Tigers with the most pop at the plate with four home runs and 12 RBI. Her solo home run in the ninth inning Tuesday at Troy served as the game-winner in the 3-2
contest.

The four-game tournament continues Saturday with a 3 p.m. game against Austin Peay and wraps up Sunday with a 2 p.m. game against Purdue.
