Following the best regular-season of her career, Auburn junior Alli Smalley was named to the All-SEC Second Team by a vote of the league’s coaches Tuesday.

Auburn point guard Morgan Toles also picked up a postseason honor, as she was voted to the SEC All-Freshman Team.

Smalley, a native of Arab, finished the season ranked sixth in the SEC with 15.4 points per game and third in SEC-only games with 15.9 points per game. She scored more than 20 points in six games this season, including a career-high 27 points against rival Alabama.

Smalley led the Tigers in scoring while also posting 4.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. She hit a team-high 51 3-pointers in the regular season at a 31.5 percent clip.

“It is a big honor because there are so many great players in our conference and so many players in the past from Auburn who have made it like DeWanna Bonner and Whitney Boddie,” said Smalley. “It is an honor and I am very thankful to my coaches and teammates for all the hard work this season.”

Toles, a native of Fayetteville, Ga., finished the regular season averaging 7.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and a team-high 4.4 assists per game.

She is the top-ranked freshman in the SEC in both assists (fifth overall) and assist-to-turnover ratio (seventh overall). Her 118 assists so far this season rank fifth all-time in the freshman class rankings.

Toles is also one of the top freshmen, nationally. She ranks 12th among freshmen in the NCAA, 90th overall, in assists and 11th among freshmen, 126th overall, in assist-to-turnover ratio.

“It is an honor to be on the All-Freshman Team and just to be a part of any recognizable team here in the SEC because it is such a tough league,” said Toles. “I want to thank my coaches for pushing me through the whole season and also my team.”

Auburn will play Florida in the first round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday in Duluth, Ga.
