07/30 at 07:31 AM

Inside the Auburn Tigers Radio, a show that will focus on the day-to-day happenings of Auburn sports, kicks off at 4 p.m. today on WANI 1400AM.

The two-hour show, which replaces the Paul Finebaum Show on WANI, will be hosted by Brad Law, Jason Caldwell and Mark Murphy, and will combine Auburn Network, Inc., personalities with those from Inside the Auburn Tigers Magazine and AUTigers.com Web site.

“We believe there is a need for a high-quality, information-oriented daily radio show focusing on Auburn sports,“ WANI Station Manager and Director of Sports Programming for Auburn Network, Inc., Andy Burcham said. “By combining the resources of Auburn Network, Inc., and Inside The Auburn Tigers Magazine, this show will be much more than phone calls from listeners giving their opinions.

“Inside the Auburn Tigers Radio will present Auburn sports news from the experts, and the show will do it in an informative, well-produced and entertaining manner. The response to the show has been incredible since we announced it a couple weeks ago and we are anxious to get it on the air (this) afternoon.“

Also, according to Burcham, the radio show will also cover the SEC and local high school sports, and will take calls and e-mails each day as well.

Law, who began his radio career doing play-by-play for Alabama High School Athletic Association, works for the Auburn Network.

Caldwell, a Sylacauga native and AU graduate, has been covering the Auburn Tigers since his arrival on the Plains in 1992. Caldwell joined the Inside the Auburn Tigers staff in 1999 and has been the assistant editor since 2001. He has appeared as a guest on numerous radio broadcasts throughout the south.

Murphy brings decades of AU experience and insight to the show, as he’s served as editor and publisher of Inside the Auburn Tigers Magazine since its beginning in 1981. He is also the editor of the ITAT football newsletter and football guide as well as the editor of AUTigers.com.

“Inside the Auburn Tigers is really looking forward to the radio project we are doing with WANI and the Auburn Network,“ Murphy said. “I have known Andy Burcham, Mike Hubbard and many of the other key people there for many years and have tremendous respect for their professionalism. They have state-of-the-art equipment to produce the radio show and are committed to making this an enjoyable product for sports fans in this area and elsewhere via the Internet.“

Inside the Auburn Tigers Radio will air Monday-Friday from 4-6 p.m. and may also be heard on 98.7 FM, as well as 1400 AM. WANI’s programming may also be heard on 100.3FM, HD-2 for listeners with HD radios.

Inside the Auburn Tigers Radio will also be available online at http://www.WANI1400.com.
