AU ROUNDUP: Auburn baseball to play 33 home games in 2011


The defending SEC West champion Auburn baseball team will play 26 games against teams that made the 2010 NCAA Tournament as the team released the 2011 schedule on Thursday. Auburn will play a total of 33 games at home, beginning with the season-opener against Arkansas State on Feb. 18 at 6 p.m.

Two members of the Auburn women’s track and field team were honored by the Southeastern Conference on Monday, as junior Sheniqua Ferguson was named SEC Female Runner of the Year and Maya Pressley was named SEC Freshman Field Athlete of the Year.

ATLANTA — The Auburn softball team stranded eight runners, as the Oregon Ducks took advantage of an Auburn error to score the game’s only run and defeat the Tigers 1-0 in the first round of the NCAA Atlanta Regional on Friday afternoon.

WILMINGTON, N.C. — Junior Cydney Clanton turned in the lowest round in Auburn NCAA Championship history, as she shot a 66 final round, posting a 7-under 281, four-day total and tying for third in the 2010 NCAA Championship.
