G.W. Carver Museum
305 North Foster Street Dothan, Alabama 36303 334.712.0933 www.gwcarvermuseum.org The G.W. Carver Museum pays tribute to George Washington Carver and the many scientific, cultural and artistic contributions he made to society. The Museum also teaches visitors a unique perspective on African-American history. Murals depict the social changes African Americans have faced from their arrival to the United States to the present. Exhibits such as the Gallery of Heroes and the Gallery of Black Scientists, Inventors & Explorers depict African-American contributions to the United States military and science, and work to unveil the social stereotypes that have led to misleading and incorrect depictions of African Americans. The Museum also strives to inspire and encourage today’s youth to follow in the footsteps of great leaders such as George Washington Carver.
